With a view to extending
the Nursery Retail Sales season, Bank Mill
Nurseries diversified a few years ago to
incorporate the Tropical Butterfly House
and Reptilia.
The following year the Coffee Shop/Restaurant
was opened and much work was carried out
on the Nature Reserve to open it to the
public. The following year the Education
wing was opened which is adjacent to the
Dunes providing much needed seating at busy
times.
The Nature Reserve has proved to be most popular and the addition of the picnic area, adjoining the enclosed Duck area gives a nice destination on a warm sunny day. A hatch in the dividing fence enables rabbits , Guinea Pigs Ducks and geese to enter the Picnic and be fed by hand.
The Children's play area is just over the path with climbing frame swings etc. The Willow Tunnel is now well established and popular for hide and seek.
The maze planted in 2008 is getting dense and this year we lost one little girl for a short time.
The Crazy Golf has proved to be a great success, and over the winter months we are going to upgrade Ferret's world, so watch this space
